500 gr, Holy Land's incense - natural Frankincense.
Frankincense is an aromatic resin obtained from trees of the Boswellia species. These trees grow mainly in dry regions of the Middle East and parts of Africa, including Oman, Yemen, Somalia, and Ethiopia.
For thousands of years, frankincense has been valued for its fragrance and has been used in religious ceremonies, traditional medicine, and perfumery. When the bark of the Boswellia tree is cut, a milky sap flows out and hardens into yellowish resin tears, which are collected and used as frankincense.
Historically, frankincense was very valuable and widely traded in the ancient world. It is also known from the Christian tradition as one of the gifts brought to the infant Jesus by the Wise Men, along with gold and myrrh.
In traditional and modern herbal medicine, frankincense is known for its anti-inflammatory properties. Compounds in the resin, called boswellic acids, may help reduce inflammation and are sometimes used in supplements to support joint health and conditions such as arthritis.
Today, frankincense is used in several forms, including incense, essential oil, herbal extracts, and dietary supplements. It is also popular in aromatherapy and natural wellness practices.
